What is Comprehension Bootcamp?
Comprehension Bootcamp is a 2 week-long, online kickstart to the new year! In these two weeks, we will be focusing on the 7 most impactful reading comprehension strategies that students should be using.
Bootcamp is designed for elementary school teachers who want to get MORE out of their students' reading abilities!
During the Bootcamp, I will be sending weekly video training, lesson plans, and support materials, all centered around the focused reading strategies. Teachers will implement the lessons and activities into their week to help get students ready and rocking for 2022!
What's Included in the Bootcamp?
Free Webinars
You will have access to free webinars that walk you through the most impactful reading strategies you can teach and use in your classroom! The webinars are pre-recorded so you can watch when you have the time!
Free Lesson Plans
I will send out lesson plans to get you working on each of the reading strategies with your students! Teachers will implement the lessons when they can. I will also provide follow up mini-lessons to help support the main iesson.
Jam Packed Toolkit
Throughout the Bootcamp, all participants will receive a FREE reading strategy comprehension toolkit full of materials to get the Bootcamp started and to use in the classroom! Teachers absolutely LOVE the toolkit and you will too!
Bootcamp Outline
Want a sneak peek into what will happen during the 2 weeks of Comprehension Bootcamp? Take a look!
On February 6th, all Bootcamp participants will receive their 'Welcome' email. This email will outline everything they need to know for the Bootcamp
Then on Monday, February 7th, Bootcamp participants will receive the first email. In week one - we will be focusing on the strategy of Visualization! In the email, teachers will find an exclusive pre-recorded webinar to watch that walks through all of the tips, tricks, and information teachers need to understand why Visualization is so important to a reader's success.
Also in the email, teachers will find that week's lesson plan and guidebook to help them prepare for the week.
Here, we will be focusing on the strategy of Making Connections. On Wednesday, February 9th, Bootcamp participants will receive an email with an exclusive webinar that covers everything they need to know about getting students to make strong and meaningful connections in a text.
Also in the email, teachers will find that week's lesson plan and guidebook of everything they need for the week.
Now, we will be focusing on the strategy of Asking Questions! Bootcamp participants will receive an email on Friday, February 11th with the exclusive webinar where we cover everything teachers need to go to get their students to ask meaningful and guiding questions while reading.
Also in the email, teachers will find that week's lesson plan and guidebook of everything they need for the week.
Here, we will be focusing on the reading strategy of Metacognition. On Sunday, February 13th, teachers will receive an email with their exclusive webinar that walks them through everything they need to know about guiding and prompting students to use metacognition while reading.
Also in the email, teachers will find that week's lesson plan and guidebook of everything they need for the week.
Here, we will be focusing on the reading strategy of Determining Importance. On Tuesday, February 15th, teachers will receive an email with their exclusive webinar that walks them through everything they need to know about guiding and prompting students to determine importance while reading.

Here, we will be focusing on the reading strategy of Synthesizing. On Thursday, February 17th, teachers will receive an email with their exclusive webinar that walks them through everything they need to know about guiding and prompting students to use synthesizing strategies while reading.

Here, we will be focusing on the reading strategy of Schema. On Saturday, February 19th, teachers will receive an email with their exclusive webinar that walks them through everything they need to know about guiding and prompting students to use their schema while reading.
